YO TOKYO

We recently worked on a project for a new Japanese eatery located in North London, where we were tasked with designing a brand-new digital menu and conducting food photography for its design. The entire process took about a week, from the photoshoot to the final design.

INSPIRATION

Our design concept drew inspiration from the nightscape of Tokyo, using black as the primary color to evoke a sense of sophistication and the atmosphere of a city at night.

IMAGE

The food images stand out against the black background, making them appear fresher and more vibrant, allowing customers to clearly see the details.

Layout

Given the large number of food items, it required careful effort to present each dish's photo and name in an organized manner. If not handled properly, customers could easily feel confused when reading the menu, which might make ordering more time-consuming or even discourage them from ordering.

SPECIAL

We incorporated Japanese text into the menu. Although customers may not understand its meaning, it enhances their perception of the restaurant, making them more likely to believe that this is an authentic Japanese establishment. This helps in building a strong, long-term brand image for the restaurant.
